Murray Park – A Wonderful Place For All Ages

Murray Park is a wonderful place for all ages. There are a variety of restaurants, shopping areas, and other attractions.

The town of Murray grew throughout the first half of the twentieth century, although its commercial and industrial base suffered from depression and ASARCO’s closing. Parks & Recreation

Murray is a great place for families looking for a balanced lifestyle. The city offers a variety of neighborhoods that provide a comfortable living environment with access to schools, parks, and shopping centers. The city’s job market is diversified, with opportunities available in a variety of fields. Intermountain Healthcare, a large healthcare provider, and 3M Health Information Systems are two of the largest employers in the area. Murray also has several public schools managed by the Murray City School District, providing excellent educational options for families.

The city’s most notable park is Murray City Park, a large public park that features an outdoor pool, an amphitheater for community events, and a recreation center. Other park amenities include a playground, five pavilions, an arboretum, multipurpose fields, softball and soccer fields, a gazebo, and hiking trails. The park also hosts Murray Fun Days, a longstanding 4th of July tradition that provides a range of family-friendly activities. A variety of indoor recreational facilities are also located in the city.

Sports

Murray Park has a golf course and numerous sports facilities including a large soccer field, rugby fields, a multipurpose field, and a gazebo. It also has a playground and picnic sites with built-in BBQ grills and trails.

Several recreational centers are located throughout the city, and the Wheeler Historic Farm is operated by Salt Lake County and displays family agriculture and rural lifestyles from 1890 to 1920. The Murray City Library is a Carnegie library that was founded in 1911, and it operates outside the Salt Lake County library system.

The Murray campus of Eagle Gate offers medical training programs that prepare students for a healthcare career. These programs are facilitated by industry-leading instructors and include access to healthcare facilities and simulation training. Students can complete the Medical Assisting program in just nine months. The school is conveniently located near Interstate 15 and Riverview Park. The campus is also close to major shopping centers. Events & Festivals

Murray City Park is a beautiful place to spend your day. The manicured grounds feature flower gardens, shaded pavilions, softball fields, state-of-the-art playgrounds, walking paths, and a recreation center. Murray City Park is also home to Little Cottonwood Creek, making it a wonderful place to walk or bike around.

The Murray City Park Amphitheater hosts evening performances from May through September. A full schedule is published in early spring each year.

Murray’s Haunted Woods is Utah’s family-friendly haunted trail. Come enjoy the Silly Trail for the younger kids from 5:30-7p.m or if you dare the Scary Trail from 7-9p.m at the Murray Park Amphitheater (296 E. Murray Park Ave.).

Every Tuesday night from June through September you can hang out and try the best food vendors at the Murray Farmer’s Market. Bring a blanket or chairs and stay for an evening of outdoor fun and great food. All vendors are subject to approval by the City of Murray.

Parking

In the city of Murray, there are many parking options for drivers. These include long-term parking, which is often located near key landmarks in the city. Choosing a long-term parking space in this area offers the convenience of easy access to your vehicle, while also protecting it from extreme weather conditions. Depending on the type of car you have, the duration of the storage period, and your preferred location, prices can vary.

Murray City Park is a beautiful park that features manicured lawns, beautiful flower gardens, shaded pavilions, softball fields, state-of-the-art playgrounds, and an amphitheater. There are also paved pathways that wind throughout the park alongside Little Cottonwood Creek. This is a great location to capture beautiful landscape photos or to photograph the fall foliage. Parking at Murray City Park is free for UTA active transit passengers with a valid ticket. Other commuters must pay a daily parking fee.
